Rockford Fosgate RFK4 4 AWG Power Only Amplifier Install Kit Review

First off I chose this specific type of amp kit because I didn't want one that included the RCA audio patch cables for my preamp outputs. For that purpose I wanted a single cable with 6 connectors and none of the kits seemed to offer anything more than a 4 connector cable. I bought a Monster cable for that need which I'll review separately.

Concerning this kit there are obviously cheaper ones that can be purchased, but after a lot of research on the different kits I decided to spend a few extra bucks for a name brand product. I was definitely not disappointed when it arrived as this is a high quality kit that's exactly as Rockford Fosgate claims. The pre-terminated connectors are a plus, and I found the cable to be extremely flexible and easy to route because of the high conductor count.

The only thing they could have improved was to not pre-terminate the battery cable to the fuse holder. It needs to be relatively close to the battery for safety reasons, but if you want the fuse holder a little further away from the battery post you'll need to cut a longer piece of cable and re-terminate it with the additional battery post connector included with the kit. Overall though a really nice product.
